Doctor Junker's Military Service
Active Duty & Air Force One Service

Lieutenant Colonel Caesar Junker is the flight surgeon for Air Force One. While he was at Andrews AFB he served as the Commander of the Flight Medicine Flight, 89th Medical Group, Andrews Air Force Base, MD. He also serves as the flight surgeon for the 1st Airlift Squadron, flying frequently on special air missions worldwide including Air Force One and Air Force Two, and many congressional delegations.

Lieutenant Colonel Junker's first assignment was at Osan Air Base in the Republic of South Korea as Chief of the Emergency Department and then as Chief of Primary Care in 1993. After completing the Aerospace Medicine Primary Course in 1995, he was assigned to Andrews Air Force Base as a flight surgeon. From June of 1996 until November 1996 he was deployed in support of Operation Joint Endeavor where he served as an Air Force Special Operations Command flight surgeon and as Director of Base Medical Services, San Vito Air Base, Italy. From October 1997 and until March 1998 he was deployed in support of Operation of Northern Watch where he served as Chief, Tent City Clinic, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. From February 1999 until July 1999 he was deployed in support Operation Joint Forge and Operation Allied Force where he served as the Director of Base Medical Services, San Vito Air Base, Italy. He was then deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Mac Dill in October 2001 after the September 11 tragedy. He served as chief of the CENTCOM clinic. He was responsible for the oversight of daily clinic operations, providing medical care to over 4000 personnel of the Central Command and coalition forces.
